Creative Arts and Life Skills Curriculum – Bajura

Integrating creative arts (drama, painting) and essential life skills into the formal school curriculum.

Project: Holistic Education Initiative (HEI) 🎭

The Need for Soft Skills

While academic rigor is important, students in Bajura often lack exposure to the creative and emotional development necessary for future success. The HEI was designed to fill this gap.

The Integrated Curriculum

This one-year pilot program was implemented in two public schools, integrating specialized training modules during non-core hours.

Life Skills Modules

  1. Communication & Conflict Resolution: Role-playing exercises to practice non-violent communication.
  2. Financial Literacy: Basic budgeting, saving, and avoiding debt (for students 14+).
  3. Mental Health Awareness: Stress management and peer-to-peer support training.

Creative Arts Workshop

Students participated in weekly sessions focused on self-expression and teamwork.

Assessment and Feedback

Pre- and post-program assessments showed a 35% improvement in students' self-reported confidence in public speaking and a marked decrease in disciplinary issues within the participating schools.

Life Skills Checklist (Life Skills Competency Scale)

| Skill Category | Initial Score (Average) | Final Score (Average) | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | Decision Making | 4.2/10 | 6.8/10 | | Empathy & Teamwork | 5.5/10 | 8.1/10 |

The success of this pilot is driving requests for expansion into neighboring districts.
