Project: Defending the Digital Frontier 🛡️
Bootcamp Vision
Recognizing the growing threat of cyber attacks, this advanced 12-week bootcamp in Pokhara was established to cultivate a new generation of cybersecurity specialists. It covered offensive and defensive security principles.
Prerequisites
Participants needed a strong foundation in networking and programming (Python/C++).
Module 1: Network Security & Defense
This module focused on securing network infrastructure. We used a lab environment to simulate real-world attacks.
- Topic A: Firewall and IDS/IPS Configuration
- Topic B: VPN Implementation and Tunneling Protocols
- Topic C: Forensic Analysis of Network Traffic
Module 2: Ethical Hacking & Penetration Testing
The practical module where students learned to think like an attacker to strengthen defenses.
Tools Utilized:
- Nmap: Network mapping and port scanning.
- Wireshark: Packet analysis.
- Metasploit: Exploitation framework.
Final Project: Simulated Enterprise Pentest
The bootcamp culminated in a competition where teams performed a full-scale penetration test on a simulated enterprise network, reporting vulnerabilities and recommending remediation strategies.
Achievement: The winning team discovered a zero-day-like vulnerability in a legacy simulated system, earning high praise from industry mentors.
