Project: The High-Altitude Learning Hub 📚
Context: Education in Manang
Schools in Manang face severe challenges due to geographical remoteness, harsh weather, and limited resources. Access to books outside of core textbooks is virtually non-existent.
Project Execution: The Learning Hub
We renovated a dormant community building to create a modern Library and Resource Center serving three nearby schools and the local community. The center is designed to be a durable, all-weather learning space.
Key Deliverables
- Book Collection: Donated and curated 3,000+ volumes, including fiction, science, and local history.
- Digital Corner: Installed two computers with curated educational software (offline content) and a solar charging station.
- Trained Staff: Employed and trained one local librarian to manage resources and run literacy programs.
Thematic Reading Corners
- Science & Innovation: Focus on easy-to-understand physics and biology books.
- Local Culture & History: Dedicated section to preserve and share local narratives and literature.
Sustainability Strategy
The local School Management Committee (SMC) has committed to covering the librarian's salary after the initial three-year foundation funding. Furthermore, a rotating student council manages the book borrowing and return system, instilling a sense of ownership.

Our Pledge
We believe this Resource Center will not only boost literacy but also act as a vital social space for students and villagers to connect and share knowledge.
