Scholarship Support for Marginalized Students – Gulmi

Providing financial and mentorship support to students from low-income families to continue higher education.

Project: Equal Access Education Fund (EAEF) πŸŽ“

The Challenge of Retention

For many talented students in Gulmi, the transition from secondary school to higher education is blocked by financial constraints. The EAEF aims to ensure that poverty is not a barrier to academic potential.

The Scholarship Model

Financial Aid Breakdown

The fund provides comprehensive support covering both direct and indirect educational costs.

Mentorship Component

Every recipient is paired with a volunteer mentor (a professional or senior university student) for regular guidance.

Success Stories and Impact

The project currently supports 35 students, with a remarkable 80% retention rate into the next academic year, significantly higher than the regional average for low-income students.

β€œThe scholarship lifted a huge burden from my family. The mentorship, however, gave me the courage to pursue engineering.” β€” Laxmi Poudel, 2nd Year Engineering Student.

Future Growth

Our goal is to expand the fund to support 100 students across five districts by 2027. We are actively seeking corporate sponsorships to achieve this target.
